Description

Ferry's Ad 1925Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad for their Purebred Seeds. There is a drawing of three young boys happily working away in a field preparing the ground and planting seeds and another picture of ripe corn, tomato and radishes. The headline says “Plant Ferry’s seeds and reap a radio” and the text begins by talking about football scores, World Series results and music from Havana. It then asks “Have you a radio to get all this? Would you like to have one?” and, instead of having you save proof of purchase from these seed packets or something like that, it tells you to plant your own garden using their seeds, sell the ripe product to your neighbors and buy a radio with your proceeds, My how times have changed. In the bottom right corner of this ad is a small stain that is not in the scanned portion of the ad.
