Description

Dextrose Ad 1947Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad from the long ago days when Sugar had a good name. This ad has four drawings with a genie and Aladdin and captions that tell a story. The first caption says “When you think of Aladdin…” followed by “…you think of his lamp”. Then it says “when you think of energy…” before saying you should “…think of dextrose sugar”. The text explains the value of dextrose sugar by claiming that “Nature made it the one sugar your body uses directly for energy” and calls it “the chief source of all body energy”. It also claims that “practically all the dextrose made in America is used by food manufacturers” and warns that “at present, the demand for dextrose far exceeds the supply of this valuable sugar”.
