Dairy Queen Ad 1956Full color 10″ x 13 1/2″ ad that sings a song that “It’s Sweet Sixteen for Dairy Queen. Shown in the ad is a Strawberry Sundae that says “Homogenized and Pasteurized” and “National Dairy Queen Development Co. Inc”. The ad tells us that on June 16th these Strawberry Sundae’s could be had for a special value of 16 cents. I am somewhat astounded by the things that are said about something as simple as this. “With big, plump strawberries set temptingly in smooth Dairy Queen, it’s a treat you won’t want to miss”. They claim that it is “Soft-frozen only seconds before you eat it…Dairy Queen is served to you when flavor is at its fullest”. They tell us to “Stop at the sign of the “cone with the curl on top” and you will be a part of the 300,000,000 servings yearly.
