Description

Coleman Ad August 1968Black and white 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad for their Coleman Jugs. The ad has a picture of a young boy quenching his thirst with the chilled liquid that is pouring from the Coleman Jug that he holds over his head. The headline implies that the thought running through his mind is “How do Coleman Jugs keep their cool?” but we all know that he is probably thinking about the grounder that went between his legs or how nice the girl sitting in the stands looks. We adults are more interested in facts like that and the text tells us that Coleman uses the “very same super urethane you’ll find in a $500 refrigerator”. It talks about how well this product works and that it is also used in the other Coleman products that are intended to cool. It reminds us that Coleman is the “Greatest name in the great outdoors”.
