Coca Cola Ad October 1943Full color 9 1/2″ x 13″ ad that reminds us that the Taste of Coca-Cola is International. There is a picture of an Allied soldier meeting with some residents of Iceland on a hill overlooking the coast and they are sharing bottles of Coke. The headline says “Have a Coca-Cola = Come, be blessed and be happy…or how to break the ice in Iceland”. We get the explanation that the phrase of greeting in Iceland is “Come, be blessed and be happy” but the form of greeting for Americans is “Have a Coke.
