Black and white 5 1/4″ x 10 3/4″ ad for Woodbury Cold Cream with the popular actress Claaudette Colbert. The ad has two photos of Claudette performing the “tissue test” and viewing the results to prove to herself how “Woodbury floats out hidden dirt”. The text mentions that she is starring in the Universal-International picture The High Ground and that she was asked to clean her face with her regular cleansing cream. Then she was asked to do it again using Woodbury Cold Cream and the smile in the lower picture shows how well the second cleaning worked. The ad mentions that Penaten is a powerful ingredient in this product and that a jar could be purchased for anywhere from 25 cents to 97 cents.
