Description

Chrysler Convertible Ad June 1960New Yorker – Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad with a picture of a White New Yorker Convertible with the top down parked on a remote section of beach with twenty foot high sections of rocks all around it. In the foreground of the picture is a beach towel spread on the sand with a wicker picnic basket, a pair of blue lady’s shoes and a hat with a blue scarf around it, conveniently placed to hold the towel down. Vaguely visible in the background, climbing the rock formation, is a happy and active couple who probably belong to the Chrysler. The headline calls it “The Car of your Life for the Time of your Life!” and the text talks about many of the features and advantages of this car, from the way it looks in your driveway to the spacious interior to the power and smooth performance it has. I am surprised that they mentioned all of those items and didn’t mention the fact that it flies too. If you carefully examine the sand surrounding the location of the car you will not notice a single tread mark leaving me to assume that it either flew into it’s present location or was left there at low tide.
