Chrysler Ad January 1966Chrysler Newport 2-Door – Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad displays sympathy for those of you who may have bought a car that you thought was inexpensive and a good deal without looking at a Chrysler Newport. The ad shows a Bronze color Newport parked in a room with a lady sitting in the background wearing a red dunce cap. The headline taunts “So you bought one of those smaller cars for a few dollars less than this Chrysler. Too bad.” The text laments that some people will buy the same kind of car, year after year, without looking at what else is available. Some people also remember Chrysler as being a car that was too expensive but things change. The text finishes by listing the standard features that you will get in a Newport at such a low price.
