Description

Carnation Ad April 1944Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad for their Irradiated Unsweetened Evaporated Milk. There is a cute drawing of a little boy sitting in a green high-chair for his morning Carnation. He has tipped his glass over and the milk has puddled on the floor where it is being quickly cleaned up by a happy dog. The headline says “The lucky dog! That’s Baby’s precious Carnation. Everyone during the war was trying to make sure that children were getting all of their proper nutrition so the ad offers a free recipe book giving ways to “eat” as well as “drink” your Carnation. As a sample the ad includes one of the recipes, one for Lemon Cups.
