Description

Borden Ad 1944 JulyFull color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad that is devoted to Borden’s Fine Cheeses. The ad starts off with a drawing of Elsie the Cow standing there talking to the Woman of the House and, the ad says, that “Elsie says: If your husband was good today – do this…”. The ad continues by saying that “If he’s bought an extra War Bond on the way home…Or if he’s been working in your victory garden since suppertime…Show your appreciation, Lady. Give him some of that swell Borden’s Cheese he has been hankering for. Treat him to a slice of Borden’s Chateau with his victory garden tomatoes, or give him a helping of Liederkranz cheese on crackers with some of his crisp, young radishes on the side”. The ad goes on and then there is a “New Way To Tune Up Salads…”, a section that says that “Sure, You Can Still Get Liederkranz Cheese” and, at the bottom there is another section that claims that “Yes! There’s A Fair Supply Of Borden’s Chateau!. A lot of text that I have left out in this ad.
