Description

Bayer Ad 1961Black and white 10″ x 13″ ad that has the standard advice at the top of the page “For the pains and fever of Colds and Flu, Doctors Recommend Aspirin”. With that being said, Bayer Brings Fastest Relief…the fastest, most gentle to the stomach relief you can get from the aches, pains and fever of a cold or flu!”. The picture shows a doctor’s bag setting on a bedside table and a male hand, presumably the doctor’s, holding up the thermometer to be read. The ad says that “This is a simple fact: in private conversations, in magazine articles, in newspapers and medical journals, doctors and public health officials have repeatedly recommended one thing for painful discomforts and fever of colds and flu. That one thing is aspirin. Specifically, aspirin. In fact, when we asked thousands of doctors if they themselves took aspirin, better than nine out of ten said “Yes”. They also mention the Children’s Aspirin for sale.
