Description

Bacardi Rum Ad July 1965Full color 10″ x 13 3/4″ ad for Bacardi Rum that wants you to know that “This is how the Daiquiri was invented”. They claim that “An American mining engineer used to end his day with a tall thirst until he finally quenched it (in 1896) with a tall, cold, good-tasting drink he invented with lime juice, sugar and Bacardi Rum. He named it after the place where he got the thirst – the Daiquiri Mines! Times have changed, and now Daiquiris come in assorted sizes and shapes. But three things stay the same: (1) the original Daiquiri was made with Bacardi, (2) the best still are and (3) people still quench thirst with their frosty smoothness. Buy some Light Bacardi and do a little thirst quenching yourself! (The recipe’s on the back label.)”
