Description
Hudson Six – Full color 9 3/4″ x 13″ ad for the 1940 Hudson Six. This is a very inclusive ad, starting off the headline “NEW to the lowest price field! Such Room, Comfort, Power, Safety! Hudson Six”. The image in the picture at the bottom of the page is of a Red Convertible with the top down, driving down a country road with a couple in the front seat and a lady in the back, holding a large bouquet of flowers. The caption for this picture says that “Hudson offers today’s widest choice of fine automobiles…for Every Popular Price Class Beginning With The Lowest. Sixes or Eights…every popular body type…extra wide range of colors and upholstery. Whatever price you plan to pay, see your Hudson dealer for MORE CAR FOR YOUR MONEY”. The text in the ad starts off by claiming that it is the “Most Amazing Lowest Priced Car Ever Built”. I will just give you the first paragraph of this text. “How well do you know this new Hudson Six? Of course, you’ve seen it; probably you’ve admired its good looks. But it still may surprise you to learn that its rate of sales gain is one of the sensations of the 1940 automobile year. We believe it will pay you to find out why – particularly if you own one of the “other three””. It also has a box here with the headline saying “Lower Prices…Starting At $670”. This box starts off by saying “Greater economy than ever proved by any of the “other three”, or any other full-sized car – a certified 1940 record, made in a continuous 1,000 mile run under official supervision”. This ad has many other items of interest and a list of things that you could get for “No Extra Charge For These”.
