Description
1960 DKW – Full color 10″ x 13 1/2″ ad for “The Remarkable DKW Surefooted as the Cast of the Ice Follies…Designed to go where other cars loose traction”. Pictured in the ad is a Light-Colored DKW parked on an icy pavement. Attached to the back are five ropes with about thirty people holding on, preparing to be towed. The engine is very simple, only seven basic moving parts. It has no camshafts, no timing gears and no valves. All it has are three pistons, three connecting rods and a crankshaft. Not bad. The lubrication in a DKW is by oily vapor, oil is mixed with the gas (a two-cycle) and cannot gum up the pistons.
