Dodge Dart Ad 1961Dodge Dart 440 – Full color 10″ x 13″ ad that introduces the “First of the Action-Economy cars”. Pictured in the ad is a Red Four Door Dodge Dart 440 parked, with a man sitting in the driver’s seat, in front of a black building with red doors. This car is claimed to be “a low price, full-size Dodge that’ll outrun, out-economize most any car around.” They also claim that “It accelerates 7% quicker than last year’s comparable model, and does it on 5% less gas.” They then talk about dead weight and mention that the automatic transmission housing for the V-8’s used to be made out of cast iron but now it is made of aluminum which is stronger but 60 pounds lighter. The ad tells you to “Come in and drive the New Lean Breed of Dodge.”
