Full color 9 3/4″ x 13 1/2″ ad that is for Campbell Soups. This ad starts off with the headline “Soup ‘N Sandwiches” under the claims that “Cool summer meals need one hot dish. Make it easy! Make it soup!” Under this there is a picture of a boy, smiling as if the smile was painted on, sitting there with his spoon in a bowl of Campbell’s Tomato Soup and, with his other hand, is holding onto a sandwich half. Beside this is a list of “15 Nourishing Soup ‘n Sandwich Combinations” that include Bean with Bacon Soup, Chicken Noodle Soup, Clam Chowder, Beef Noodle Soup, Chicken Vegetable Soup, Scotch Broth, Vegetable Beef Soup, Chicken Gumbo Soup, Vegetarian Vegetable Soup, Turkey Noodle Soup, Minestrone Soup, Chicken with Rice Soup, Cream of Chicken Soup, Green Pea Soup and Vegetable Soup. The text in the ad says “Boy, but it’s good! A sandwich and a bowl of Campbell’s Tomato Soup as your delicious “one hot dish.” It’s a lunch that peps you up when the weather gets you down.
