Description

Saab Ad 19611961 Saab – Black and white 10″ x 13 3/4″ ad that talks about the value of owning a 1961 Saab. Pictured in this ad is a Saab being held by the world’s biggest micrometer as the caption says “Why Saab uses structural steel heavy and safe as cars costing $5,000 or more!”. The ad then tells us that “The Swedish SAAB was expressly designed to be the safest family compact on the road. Heavier steel was used in the entire framework, to literally forge a wall-of-steel protection around you and your family. (That’s why the SAAB weighs 100-300 pounds more than cars of comparable size.) SAAB has other impressive safety features: It does not shake or sway even at turnpike speeds of more than 70 miles per hour; its Front Wheel Drive gives you more responsive, safer steering; and its motor has greater acceleration than the usual imported compact which allows safer passing on highways. This remarkable motor, which has only seven basic moving parts, commonly goes 100,000 miles without major overhaul! All these extra benefits come to you in a trim, handsomely-styled 5-passenger car that gives you 30-35 miles per gallon”. The text goes on, indicating that the Saab was a car to consider.
