Description
Chrysler Newport – Black and white 9 1/2″ x 13 3/4″ ad that is for the 1962 Chrysler Newport. Pictured in this ad is a Dark Four-Door Chrysler Newport parked all alone in a parking lot and the four people who drove there, a father, mother and two children, are holding hands and skipping towards the car as the price “Chrysler $2,964” stands overhead. The ad begins saying that “We’ve still got your number!” and then goes on by saying that “It’s the price you find on Newport…the Chrysler that again carries a price most people associate with the “jr. editions”. Here’s what so many skeptics have found out about the full-size price surprise of the year. Newport’s brimming with Chrysler-powered advances. It gives you a smooth Firebolt V-8 engine – rated at 265 horsepower. It uses regular gasoline – saves you 10% right away in fuel costs. Newport’s six-people comfort is served on five-foot wide seats. Upholstery is richly textured double woven fabric. Newport’s torsion-bar suspension combines a soft ride with the agility of a two-seater sports car. The auto experts rave about Chrysler handling. Newport’s all-welded body has no bolts to loosen. Its aircraft-inspired alternator (unlike a generator) saves your battery because it keeps current flowing even when traffic’s at a standstill. And Newport’s brakes are the biggest, huskiest in its class. If you think Newport sounds almost like too much car for the money, you’re right. For another surprise, chech your Chrysler dealer’s liberal trade-in allowance. He’s got your number, too”.
