Four Roses Whiskey Ad 1953 JuneFull color 9 3/4″ x 13 3/4″ ad for Four Roses Blended Whiskey. This ad has the summertime feel to it since it has the top of the diving board that is cluttered with Four Roses right behind a ready-made Four Roses Collins drink. Postured on the board just below that one is a board that has the mixing instructions for this drink. It says to take “1/2 jigger Lemon Juice; 1 Teaspoonful Sugar; 1 jigger Four Roses. Shake with cracked ice; pour into tall glass; add carbonated water; stir”. The text calls it the “Summertime Champion. For cooling refreshment in hot weather, nothing beats a Four Roses Whiskey Collins. It’s a distinctively different kind of Collins – for the flavor of Four Roses itself is distinctive. And – as you’ll soon discover – the Four Roses you get today is the finest that has ever been bottled”. As the ad headline at the bottom says, “Wouldn’t you rather drink Four Roses.
