Full color 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad for Hunt’s Canned Peaches. This ad has a drawing of a can of Hunt’s Peaches with a pair of angel’s wings, fluttering around next to the lettering claiming that these are “Hunt’s Heavenly Peaches at down to earth prices!”. The top picture shows several Peach halves in a bowl and the ad says that these are “For Brother And Sister…Watch ’em go for Hunt’s Heavenly Peaches! Ummmmm – how they love those tender, golden beauties. Good for them, too. Serve Hunt’s often”. Below this is a picture of six halves going into the oven, each with a different topping in them. The ad here says “For Mrs. and Mister…Broiled Heavenly Peaches! What a wonderful treat for you and your guests. Grand as a desert. Grand for roasts. And they are so easy to make. See recipe below picture”. So, you want the recipe. “Heavenly Broiled Peaches Place 6 peach halves cup side up in shallow baking dish. Dot each with butter. Mix 2 tbsp. syrup from peaches and 2 tbsp. lemon juice; pour over peaches. Fill hollows with any of the following; mint jelly; currant jelly; shredded cocoanut; a mixture of chopped maraschino cherries and nuts. Place about 4 inches below broiler, heat and broil until peaches are lightly browned, basting occasionally. Serve for desert or with roasts”.
