Zenith Ad 1962Full color 10″ x 13 3/4″ ad for Zenith Color TV’s. The headline at the top of this page says that “In Color TV it’s what’s behind the picture tube that counts” and, under that, we see a picture of a picture tube and, behind that, we see the inards of a television set, and then we see a complete Zenith color TV set, what is identified as “The Bellevue, Model 6040 with Zenith Space Command Remote Control TV Tuning. Both pictures that show the picture tube have the picture of an attractive lady smiling into the camera. The headline of this ad claims that “Handcrafted Quality makes the big difference in Zenith Color TV before we get into the text. Gender dependability. Fewer service problems. When you buy Color TV – make sure you get the lasting dependability of Zenith Handcrafted Quality. For every connection in a Zenith is hand wired, hand soldered – and tested every step of the way. There are no printed circuits, no production shortcuts. This greater care means greater dependability – year after year after year. And Zenith Color TV brings you many exclusive advances! Zenith’s Gold Video Guard Tuner pulls in a sharper, clear color picture – even in far-out fringe areas – for the lifetime of the set. Zenith’s Electronic Color Brain gives you the most true-to-life colors in Color TV. And Zenith’s Space Command Remote Control actually lets you tune TV without moving from your easy chair”.
