Description

Ralston Ad 1951Full color 9 3/4″ x 13 3/4″ ad for Instant Ralston Whole Wheat Cereal. This ad has a bowl of the cereal sitting in a bowl with some condiments on it and, right behind it, there is a sealed box of the product, standing there. The ad has several notations in the ad, all directing you to the area of expertise. Over the bowl of cereal, the notation says that it “Warms you up! Builds you up! Costs LESS than 2 cents a serving!”. Above this and pointing towards the name, is a notation saying that “It’s America’s NO. 1 Hot Whole Wheat cereal”. On the top of the ad, pointing towards the words on the label that claims that it “Cooks In 10 Seconds” is the statement that it is the “Quickest cooking hot cereal there is!” Down on the lower right hand side, pointing towards the sign that claims that it has “Twice as much Wheat Germ As WHole Wheat”, it simplly says that it has “Extra Natural Protection”. And, at the lower right hand corner, it simply says “P.S. Ever try it with BROWN sugar? Kids love it”.
