Description
Contents: Vintage Burgandy (Paul Vitale likes hammering so much that he not only does it at work while a carpenter, he does it to his cars too.), Jus’ Teasin’ (We recreated a typical scene from the prohibition days just for the fun of it. Randy and Julie Haapala, and their T sedan, played their roles perfectly.), Not ZZ Top (MTV has done a lot for music, and street rodding, since it made the ZZ Top ’33 Ford coupe famous all over the world. The only problem is that now all street rods are “just like that ZZ Top car”…almost.), Brown Sugar (Until eight years ago this 1932 Plymouth convertible coupe was driven daily in stock form by a UCLA professor.), The Flight of the X-51 (An early custom was brought back to lire – but not without a lot of effort.), Let’s Go H.B.! (Here’s your typical roadster of the ’80s, and no it isn’t from California.), Cafe Racer (A graphic paint scheme called for a graphic background to compliment this Georgia-based, pro-street style screamer.) Events – The Cowtown Nationals (We didn’t see any cows, but there sure were a herd of street rods.), The YPSI Run, The 1984 Street Rod Nationals (More color and black and white coverage of street rodding’s premier event than you can get anywhere.), The Rancho Los Amigos Show (Lots of cars and goodwill at this L.A. Roadster club event.), The Nats East (The city of York, Pennsylvania once again hosted one of street rodding’s largest events. This year it was bigger than ever.), Go Midwest (Tom and Deanna McMullen were out on the road again on their trek east to the street rod nationals.) Shop Tour – The Deuce Factory (Dave Thacker paid a visit to the home of the repro-deuce frame rails and discovered a few new things while he was there.) Special Features – Easy Does It (I don’t care what the title is, it wasn’t easy choosing these rear suspension kits to show you. There are too many that are too nice.), Brake Dance (We really had to “get down” to narrow this selection down to only 52 brake system components. The effort was worth it.) Departments – Collecting Our Thoughts, The Cop Shop, Mail Collector, Nifty Fifties, The Rod Shop, Coming Events
