Description

Domino Cigarettes Ad 1942Black and white 5″ x 7″ ad for their Mild Cigarettes. There is a drawing of a man sitting in his easy chair with a woman sitting on the arm of the chair taking a cigarette from his pack of Domino. The headline urges you to “Get to know Domino which it calls “A Richer, Smoother Smoke”. They suggest that you disregard the advertising claims of all cigarettes and just buy packs and see what you like. They want you to “Compare Domino with any cigarette at any price”. The text claims that they are made “from choice imported and domestic tobaccos – vacuum-cleaned, firmly rolled, generously packed”. I have been wondering about the claim of being “generously packed” and have to wonder if that doesn’t mean that more often than not your pack will contain 21 cigarettes.
