Description

Old Gold Ad 1946Black and white 9 1/2″ x 13 1/4″ ad that has a drawing of a scene where a father, dressed in his work clothes has been “boxing” with his five-year-old son, dressed in shorts with suspenders. The father is sitting on the floor holding his chin while the boy stands in front of him with his gloves cocked as the mother stands over them holding up one hand. The text says that “If upset by a five-year old…Why be irritated? Light an Old Gold. The text then continues on with “It’s those extra touches that make Old Gold your extra friendly cigarette. Apple “Honey” for instance, gives you more-than-usual freshness. The world’s most treasured tobaccos are blended with extra care. Rare, imported Latakia tobacco adds its own special luxury of flavor. Even the fine, snowy cigarette paper…made from virgin pure flax…contributes its superfine quality. Get friendly with Old Golds – they’re you’re kind of cigarette”. In the lower right hand of the ad is a Listen to Frank Sinatra Wednesday Evening CBS and Meet Me At Parky’s Sunday Evenings NBC.
