Description
1948 Whizzer – Three color 5″ x 12 1/2″ ad that assures you that “It’s Wise to go Whizzer“. The ad depicts a conversation between two men about their modes of transportation. The top picture shows one man comfortably riding his Whizzer past another man who is walking in his business suit. The man on the Whizzer asks “Still hoofin’ it, Al?” and the text encourages you to “Relax on a Whizzer and…ride…to work, errands, play”. In the next picture the rider stops and talks more completely to his sweating friend while in the third picture the man who was walking is taking the Whizzer for a test ride to see if he would want to buy one. The text talks about the horsepower, the top speed and the fact you could go “five miles for just a penny”. At the bottom of the ad is a side-view picture that shows this motor installed in a bicycle frame and mentions a price of $109.97. It also mentions that Whizzer has been the “World’s largest bike motor builder” for 10 years and that there were 3,500 dealers available across America.
