Oldsmobile – Black and white 5 1/2″ x 9″ ad that begins by talking about the wonderfully convenient direct drive that was found only on Oldsmobiles. The ad has a picture of an open Oldsmobile creeping down a busy city street that is filled with other cars and traffic officers. The ad headline starts with “Going down Fifth Avenue” and the text talks about the need to shift from one gear to another. With the Direct Drive that Oldsmobile offered these trips were easier on the driver and on the automobile. The ad mentions some of the features offered with their cars this year and specifically mentions the 4-cylinder Autocrat for $3500 and the 6-cylinder Limited for $5000.
