Description

Kentucky Tavern Bourbon Whiskey Ad 1965Full color 10″ x 13 1/2″ ad that has a female hand, a partially-empty bottle of Kentucky Tavern bourbon and a glass filled only part way with a drink made from this delicacy. The top is off of the bottle and the lady has it, and is spinning it, on her forefinger. Maybe she has been doing this shot for a time or two. The ad text at the top of the page says that “8 year old Kentucky Tavern is an old smoothie”. They say that the rule is that straight bourbon must be aged two years but many bourbon makers settle on four. Kentucky Tavern says eight. They feel that eight years is when the bourbon flavor is at it’s peak, Tavern smooth with water, smooth on-the-rocks, smooth with soda or smooth straight.
