Description
Black and white 9 3/4″ x 13 1/2″ ad that is for the Antique Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The ad has a picture of a bar with a nearly empty glass of whiskey, a shot glass full of another shot of Bourbon and a partially drunk bottle of Antique Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey next to the words, “We’re not a wallflower any more”. The text describes the facts by saying that ““Antique Bourbon” used to be a pretty uncommon order. Bartenders would ask, “Antique what?” Not any more. All of a sudden, we’re a trend. Which both pleases and surprises us. You see, we were afraid the trend was towards blander whiskeys. And the flavor of Antique Bourbon is full of character. Our older admirers say we’ve recaptured the character of the great pre-Prohibition bourbons. (Which is precisely what we set out to do. Even to the extent of employing a pre-Prohibition yeast.) We hoped our business would grow, of course. But we didn’t expect such instant popularity”.
