Description

Gordon’s Gin Ad May 1965Full color 9″ x 13″ ad for their Distilled London Dry Gin. There is a drawing of a group of Eighteenth Century characters gathered around a table and the headline says that “It was London 1769, the night Alexander Gordon introduced his new discovery to the boys”. It says that when he poured the first glass or mug or whatever of silky-smooth icy-dry Gordon’s the boys momentarily lost their British reserve. Upon regaining it they began to spread the good word throughout London and have not stopped spreading it since. At the time of this ad it was claimed to be the biggest seller in London and in England and in America and in the whole Civilized World.
