State Farm Insurance Ad 1954Black and white 9 3/4″ x 13 1/2″ ad for the State Farm Insurance Company. The headline reads “Do you avoid passing on hills and curves? It can help you…save up to 40% on your auto insurance”. The picture in this ad shows a truck driving slowly up a steep hill, signs indicating that it is a steep hill, with several cars creeping along behind him. The ad indicates that “If you use good judgement like the motorist in this picture, you’re probably a careful driver at all times. It should be easy for you to qualify for membership with State Farm Mutual – the “careful driver insurance company”. It should be easy for you to save up to 40 per cent on the cost of your auto insurance”. At the bottom of the ad is a nine-point check-list entitled “Can You Qualify”.
