Chevrolet Styleline Ad September 1951Chevrolet – Black and white 9 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ ad that brings attention to the fact that Chevrolet has the Powerglide Automatic Transmission available in these cars. There is a picture of a young mother and her two children driving in the front seat of a Styleline De Luxe 2-door Sedan under the headline that assures you that Chevrolet’s Powerglide automatic transmission brings a new kind of driving to the low-price field”. Along the left side of the ad are drawings that illustrate how you can “Discover Velvet Velocity”“See how easy driving is!”Take traffic in stride” and you can “Cruise the highways!”. The text reminds you about how easy it is to drive an automatic transmission car, you only press one pedal to go and only one pedal, a different one, to stop. It also claims that the Chevrolet with a Powerglide is the lowest priced no-shift car and even costs less than some standard transmission cars.
