Description

Full color 5″ x 14″ ad for Kraft’s Philadelphia Cream Cheese. This ad starts off by saying “Pear Cactus Salads…new, luscious, crunchy!” and showing a drawing of a unique treat. The caption says “And so easy to fix with “Philadelphia.” the world’s most famous brand of cream cheese”. It then says to “Be the first in your crowd to serve these intriguing new “cactus” salads. The “spines” are crisp, crunchy almonds. They’re embedded in juicy pears which have been spread with delicate-rich Philadelphia Cream Cheese softened with a little milk. Arrange the salads on a chop plate and garnish with maraschino cherries. They’re fun to make! They inspire “table talk,” whether you serve them “as is” or with lively Miracle French Dressing. Just a word about the cream cheese you use…be sure it’s genuine Philadelphia, won’t you? Philadelphia Brand is so rich, so fresh. “Philadelphia” is delicious in snacks and sandwiches, delightful on breakfast toast. Served with crackers and jelly, it is a dandy dessert that’s quick. Buy a package of Philadelphia Brand the next time you’re in a food store. You’ll be glad you did”. It then mentions that they sold two popular sizes, 3-oz and 1/2-lb.
