Description
Three color 5″ x 13 1/2″ ad for their 5-minute and Regular Cereals and is another in the series of Li’l Abner drawn by Al Capp. Abner is resting against a tree when Daisey Mae comes running by shouting “Halp!! Ole Bruce th’ moose is loose!!”. Abner realizes that a “res-kew job” like this calls for energy so he runs with her holding the stove while she cooks Cream of Wheat to add that energy to his system. As she feeds him and runs she complains about him insisting on the regular rather than the Quick Enriched Cream of Wheat and he responds that “It’s every wife’s sacred dooty t’ cook Cream of Wheat fo’ her husbin'”. After eating his fill Abner grabs Bruce by the tail and tosses him head-first into his house over the heads of two residents of Dogpatch who are cooking up a new batch of kickapoo joy juice. The ad mentions that it is “Be Kind t’ Husbands Month” and suggests feeding your husband Cream of Wheat.
